The Meger family says "Thank You"
Posted 07 December 2006, 12:02 pm NST
My husband and I travelled to Labrador in late June/early July driving from Baie Comeau to Goose-Bay and then taking the ferry to Cartwright before carrying on down the coast. What a wonderful experience we had!We can't say enough good things about the people who helped us with everything from accommodation to laundromats...and even make shift car washes! We travelled in a VW van and as we had no bathroom facilities we sometimes found ourselves in "awkward" situations.Without exception when we explained our plight we were accommodated. To all the little communities along the way - I don't think we missed one, a huge THANK YOU!To the people in St. Lewis - you were so kind to let us park at your hotel and leave the door open for us...to the lady who gave us crab - yum...and the gentleman who gave us more...double yum!And the ice berg ice to fizzle in our drink and the memories...We will never forget your kindness. Now that we are back home, I will be watching for people who are traveling from Newfoundland - I hope we can return the hospitality extended to us. We loved the drive over the gravel roads - well, ok, the semis needed some getting used to but it was a wilderness experience par excellence with the ultimate experience of meeting so many interesting and incredibly hospitable people. We learned so much from all of you.Thank you, thank you, Kathy Meger
