Have you ever wondered how an arrowhead is made?
Posted 13 June 2006, 1:02 pm NDT
In conjunction with the opening of the Gateway Visitor Centre, the Labrador Straits Historical Development Corporation will be hosting a Flintknapping Workshop on June 27th with Tim Rast, who created the reproduction artefacts on display at the Gateway Visitor Centre. Two workshops will be held, one from 1pm to 4:30 pm, and one from 6pm to 9:30 pm, at the Natural Heritage Centre, Point Amour. Participants will learn how a stone is transformed into an arrowhead or spearpoint, and will make an arrowhead themselves during the workshop. This workshop is presented free of charge as part of the opening celebrations of the Gateway Visitor Centre.

To register, call 931-2013, or toll-free 1-877-931-2013 or Email lshdc@labradorstraits.net by Friday June 23rd. Register early, as space is limited.
