Port Hope Simpson Trails
Forest Ramble Road
The forest access road system behind Port Hope Simpson is an excellent escape to nature. Summer, fall and spring are great for hiking, bicycling, ATVing & motor biking. In winter, it is a snow lovers paradise for snowmobiling, skiing and snowshoeing.
The Forest Ramble Road is 60 km of dirt road that takes you to spectacular places.
The famous Bobby's Pond is everyone's favorite spot to spend a day during the summer. It is about 20km away from Trans Labrador Highway and the road is particularly good for cycling. If you enjoy cycling and swimming, this is the place to be.
The Depot is the location where forest companies at one time set up their base camp. It is approximately 8km away from town, a great afternoon hike to view the interior of Alexis River, and find a Geo Ccache hidden in one of the old abandoned Bowater supply boats.
