Flagstaff Hill
On the Flag Staff Hill Hiking Trail you follow a path lined with rocks painted with the elements of the Labrador Flag. There are many berries and plants a long the path as well. At the top of Flagstaff Hill there is a gazebo for your viewing pleasure as well as two old cannons used by Captain George Cartwright to guard the entrance into Cartwright harbour. From the top of the Hill you can also see a portion of the Porcupine Strand, a 50 km sandy beach that the Vikings called the "Wonderstrand".

The Wonderstrands
The Wonderstrands are a vast stretch of white sandy beach near Cartwright. Days hikes and multiple overnight trips must be planned in advance and in consultation with Parks Canada.
