Receive an orientation to Labrador Coastal Drive at the Gateway to Labrador Visitor Centre in L'Anse au Clair. This building was the community's first church (built in 1909 by volunteers) and was totally restored in 1992. Interior and exterior exhibits display the historical, cultural and natural heritage of Labrador Coastal Drive. The Centre is staffed with information officiers trained to help you make the most of your visit to Labrador.

Amongst the many displays at the Gateway is a a patch work quilt depicting local heritage. The quilt is a special piece of work in that it was designed and sewn by women from all the local communities. The design of the quilt mimicks a stain glass window that was at the front of the original church.
