This section of our website is being used as a information forum for a group of people who are consulting on the re-profile on the Gateway to Labrador Visitor Information Centre in L'Anse Au Clair. The documents may not make much sense to visitors at this point but the end result is promised to be worthy of a visit. The new exhibits will be in place for the 2006 season.
The Gateway to Labrador Visitor Information Centre is located just after the border between Quebec and Labrador in a restored building, formerly St. Andrew’s Church.
The re-profiling project will promote tourism in Labrador by highlighting sites and activities of interest in the region from L'Anse Au Clair to Cartwright and encouraging travelers to continue their exploration of Labrador. As well, the new exhibits will position the Gateway as a destination in itself for visitors who want to learn more about Labrador’s culture and history.
The Labrador Straits Historical Development Corporation is grateful for the help of those people who have volunteered to help with this project:
Cindy Gibbons, Parks Canada
Lawrence Normore, LSDC Board Member
Chris Montague, Labrador Metis Nation
Linette Moores, Dept of Tourism
Glen Ryan, Dept of Tourism
Roxanne Notley, Southeastern Aurora Development Corporation
Jamie Pye, LSHDC Board Member
Martha Drake, Dept of Tourism
